UK stagnates, Europe accelerates and the US goes into sharp reverse

The members of BPM International have carried out extensive research into the global trends and best practices in close cycle times. The research covers the year end close cycle metrics for the 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004 reporting season for 527 of the world’s largest multinational corporations, including 530 European Corporations and the US Top 100. Some of the key findings are:

bullet UK Top 4 are Carnival, Northern Rock, British Sky Broadcasting and Imperial Tobacco all reporting year end results in 31 days or less;
bullet Average times to close for the UK FTSE100 have stagnated at 54 days, unchanged in 4 years
bullet European Countries have continued to accelerate, biggest reductions in Switzerland, the Netherlands and France
bullet US average time to close has increased over the same period, reversing the trend of earlier years
We are also providing oppor-
